About

ClockJack Productions was created to change the way people experience museums. As attention-spans and perceptions change with an  ever-evolving digital landscape, we've found an opportunity to engage audiences by overwhelming their senses through experiential storytelling in a way that a glowing screen cannot, forcing them connect both with each other and the artifacts around them.

ClockJack's Artistic Director P.J. Griffith is a writer/director/performer from New York City with an extensive background in theater and television, working on both sides of the proverbial camera. He specializes in creating site-specific, immersive theatrical experiences. As an actor, P.J. first gained experience in "immersive theater" playing principal roles in some of the country's most critically-acclaimed and financially-successful immersive productions, including SLEEP NO MORE, THE ILLUMINATI BALL and BOND: SHAKEN NOT STIRRED in New York City, FOR THE RECORD: BAZ LUHRMANN in Los Angeles, DESCENT in Sarasota and THE SLEEPY HOLLOW EXPERIENCE in Massachusetts.  P.J.’s other recent theater credits include "St. Jimmy" in AMERICAN IDIOT on Broadway, “Stacee Jaxx” in ROCK OF AGES at New World Stages, "Leon Czolgoscz" in ASSASSINS at Yale Repertory Theater and "Jett Rink" in The Public Theater's premiere of GIANT. P.J. received the 2010 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Performance for SET-UP & PUNCH at The Blank Theater and the 2017 New York Musical Theater Festival Award for Outstanding Lead Performance for GEORAMA. He can be seen on television in guest starring in roles in episodes of BLUE BLOODS, GOTHAM, JESSICA JONES, THE GOOD WIFETHE MYSTERIES OF LAURA and WITHOUT A TRACE, as well as in the feature films EASTER MYSTERIES and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. He has worked on the production staff COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS, PHENOMENON, MAD TV and VH1 STORYTELLERS.

Through ClockJack Productions, P.J. blends his entertainment industry background with his life-long love of museums. His work is rooted in finding a narrative that lies within a museum's vision which a contemporary audience can connect to, then executing that story as an original theatrical production, using unexpected locations. Guests are given autonomy as the "fourth wall" is shattered, forcing them to engage the story they have been thrust into from the opening moment until he final blackout. Recent immersive productions include; FAIRY TALE FARM, an adventure at Coggeshell Farm in Rhode Island about what happened to our beloved childhood heroes afte “ever efter”, NEVERMORE— The Fantastic Terrors of Edgar Allan Poe, an outdoor Halloween experience where characters from Poe’s stories and poems come alive to tell their stories, MIDWINTER MISCHIEF for Old Sturbridge Village (winner of the 2018 International Museum Alliance Joe Lipsky Award for Excellence in Playwriting), a two-hour "adventure theater" piece where groups of 15 are given an 19th century identity and follow in the wake of a wily Yankee Peddler who barters and schemes his way through a New England village to pay off a debt,  HAUNTED BY HISTORY- A Phantasmagoria, also for O.S.V., a 40-minute theatrical seance (set in a 19th century Meeting House) that goes awry when the showman's shady ulterior motives are exposed, and HAUNTED MANHATTAN— The Five Points, a 90-minute walking tour detailing the supernatural and macabre in New York’s most notorious neighborhood. P.J. also produced/curated THE STURBRIDGE ROOTS MUSIC & CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL, bringing 15 Bluegrass/Americana/Folk acts to perform in 7 unique spaces throughout the living history museums while the audience sampled beers from 19 independent breweries from throughout New England. Upcoming projects include TOMMY THUNDER’S HEAVY METAL LIGHTNING SHOW, a musical dispelling myths about Lightning at The Discovery Place Science Center in Charlotte and PATHWAY TO THE BALLOT BOX , commemorating the centennial of the ratification og The 19th Ammemdment, giving women the right to vote at Historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz.

ClockJack's events have thus far sold-out, several FAR beyond their intended capacity. P.J. and his army of collaborators are always looking for new opportunities to tell interesting stories or create one-of-a-kind events. ClockJack Productions is capable of creating experiences on wide range of budgets, from a unique one-night-only party to an adventure theater piece that spans several miles with live bands, curated cocktails, horses and fire.
